Why Whole Home Batteries?

Whole-home batteries offer a quieter, cleaner, and more reliable alternative to generators. They provide seamless backup power without noise, fumes, fuel storage, or ongoing maintenance, while keeping essentials like WiFi and electronics running during outages. Batteries also can be expanded as well as let you use your solar panels during power outages, reduce electricity costs through energy savings, and can even earn incentives through programs like Efficiency Maine’s Small Battery Program.

Efficiency Maine Incentives

Efficiency Maine pays Program Partners $200 per year per average kW discharged during peak load events. Program Partners sign 10-year agreements with Efficiency Maine. The incentive you receive from the Program Partner is set by them.

Here’s an example of your potential incentive: For a battery that discharges an average of 5 kW during all events, Efficiency Maine would pay the Program Partner $1,000 per year. If the Program Partner passed on 90% of this incentive, the battery owner would earn $900 per year. Over the course of 10 years, the battery owner would earn $9,000.
